"The Test" A woman adventurer alone on her ship in the ocean is approached by a diver who indicates that he has seen something in a dive that is beyond belief, and he needs a witness. She agrees to dive with him, and soon they are within the halls of an underwater city. They are found and captured by the native mer-people. They are given a the responsibility of showing the mer-people that surface dwellers can be trusted. If not, the mer-people intend to take over the planet.
